A therapist who fits for you is a key factor in the success of your therapy.
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist with more than 30 years’ experience. But you are the expert on your life. I encourage you to trust what resonates for you as you hold the key to whatever it is that you’re up against. My role is to be curious and ask questions that help you gain clarity and identify solutions.
I’ve worked with clients of all ages around a wide range of issues including loss, anxiety, depression, stress, relational conflict, interpersonal trauma, and life transitions.
I work comfortably with individuals, couples and families, and I have extensive experience working with teens and parents around sexual health.
My approach
After gaining an understanding of the issues you’re up against, we work together to develop fresh ideas moving forward. My goal is to help you connect with your voice, wisdom, and desire to create the changes you’re seeking.
I come to this work with an evolving anti-oppressive lens. I’m curious about the ways power and privilege influence the issues that people find themselves struggling with. Our struggles do not develop in isolation but within a social context of social norms, privileges and places of intersectionality.
While I’ve had extensive training in various models, the following approaches resonate most strongly for me.
Narrative
Narrative therapy helps clients connect with the values and beliefs that enable them to live in a way that is true to who they are and who they are becoming.
Mindfulness & self-compassion
Learning to compassionately quiet the mind can lead to significant insights about oneself, the things that matter most to you, and acceptance of the things you cannot change.
Cognitive-behavioural
Cognitive-behavioural therapy is useful for its psycho-educational focus that provides an opportunity for people to develop and enhance their skills and abilities.
Family & couple
Many of the struggles that people see me for are interpersonally based. Developing insights into early-life relationships and influences often contributes to our work. Involving a family member or significant other can be a key part of the process.
My practice
I’m located in Hamilton, Ontario with a client base mostly in the Greater Toronto Hamilton & Toronto Area (GTHA) and Niagara. However, I’m currently offering only virtual appointments. To schedule an appointment, please call or email me.
My fee
While psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, I offer a competitive hourly rate. A percentage of my practice is dedicated to sliding scale fee. Please speak to me about these arrangements. Some employee assistance programs (EAPs) and insurance plans reimburse the cost of therapy by a registered psychotherapist. Ask your provider if you are covered.

The land that I live and work on is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Mississaugas of the Credit Nations. The treaties between the settlers and the Indigenous peoples were not honored and respected by the former. As a result, much trauma and hardship has been experienced by Indigenous peoples and the land has been exploited. As a descendant of white settlers, I am committed to learning the truth of this country’s history and playing my part in dismantling systems of oppression.
